Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya on Tuesday expressed outrage over the action taken against her father in the 'employment for land' scam, saying she “will not spare anyone if anything happens to him”.
Her outburst came in the wake of an investigation by central investigation agencies that included the questioning of Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi.
“Dad is constantly harassed. I won't spare anyone if something happens to them. It is not right that you are bothering my father. Everything will be remembered. Time is powerful, it has great power. We should always remember that,” she wrote on Twitter. “These people are troubling my father. If my father suffers any uneasiness, then we will shake the chair in New Delhi. Our tolerance limit is on the verge of giving up,” she wrote on the microblogging platform.
CBI interrogated Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had earlier questioned RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the 'land for work' case, in which people were allegedly given railway jobs in exchange for land donated or sold at cheap prices to his family and companions.
A team of five CBI officials arrived in two cars at 10:40 am at Misha Bharti's residence in Pandara Park in Delhi, where Lalu Yadav is currently staying, and the interrogation will continue throughout the day. This comes a day after his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi was questioned by the agency for nearly five hours at her Patna residence.
The CBI has already filed a chargesheet in the case against Lal Yadav, Rabri Devi and 14 others under charges of criminal conspiracy and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, for which all the accused were summoned on March 15.
Officials said a new round of questioning is underway as part of a “further investigation” as the investigating agency seeks to establish the money trail and larger conspiracy. The fresh questioning of the ailing Prasad, who was convicted in the fodder scam, and his wife on Monday drew sharp criticism from opposition parties.
